10.Can I book my holidays online?

At present, online booking for holidays on toursinShimla.com is not activated. Kindly fill in the request form by clicking on the button "Make an enquiry for this Hotel/Package" just below the image on the left side of the page. You can also request a customized package by clicking on the green button "BOOK NOW " or the red-hued "Customize Your Tour Packages" button on the right side of the page. Clicking on either of these buttons will open a 'Customize your tour package form' on a new page. Fill in the details on either of these forms and click on submit. You will receive a message stating the successful delivery of your message. Once we receive the message, a Jetways Travels representative will contact you shortly.

11.Can I book hotels online?

At present, online booking for hotels on toursinShimla.com is not activated. Kindly fill in the request form by clicking on the button "Make an enquiry for this Hotel/Package" just below the image on the left side of the page. Kindly fill in the details of your query and a Jetways Travels representative will contact you shortly. 12.Can I book just a hotel?

Yes. Hotels can be booked separately even if you do not wish to book a holiday tour package.

13.Can I book just the holiday sightseeing tour and not the hotel?

Holiday tour packages offered at toursinshimla.com are complete packages with hotels, sightseeing tours, excursions and transport included. Hence, holiday tours without hotels cannot be booked.

20.How many days in advance do I need to book a hotel?

It is advisable to book hotels in advance to avoid disappointment, especially during the peak travel months of May to August. During these months, hotels get booked well in advance and last-minute bookings are rare to come-by. There is no standard policy for advance bookings, but a general rule of thumb is a month in advance for holiday during the peak travel season and 5 to 10 days for travel during the off-season.

21.How many days in advance do I need to book a holiday package?

As hotel-stays are a major component of holiday packages, advance-booking policies for holiday packages invariably go hand-in-hand with the policies for hotels. However, for holiday packages that involve train travel, availability of train tickets needs to be assured. Like hotels, Train tickets can get booked up quickly, especially during peak season. Hence, it is advisable to book them at least a month in advance.

22.How do I know if my booking is successful?

You will receive a mail confirming the success of your booking from Jetways Travels.

How will I know if my hotel booking is confirmed?

You will receive a mail confirming your booking and hotel vouchers that you need to show at the front desk of your hotel. As you have already paid Jetways Travels / toursinShimla.com for the hotel, you need not pay anything else for the room.

24.Can I book a hotel/holiday package over phone?

Yes. Just call 011-44-112-200 to book your hotel or holiday package over phone. Our toursinShimla.com travel planners are available from 0900 hrs to 1800 hrs 6 days a week - Monday to Friday and 1000 hrs to 1700 hrs on Saturday.

25.Can I book a hotel/holiday package by e-mail?

Just send an e-mail to reservations@jetwaystravels.com with details of your travel plans and the hotel or holiday package required. A Jetways Travels representative will respond to your query at the earliest.

26.How do I search for a specific hotel/holiday package on ToursinShimla.com?

Just enter the name of the hotel or the holiday package you are looking for in the Search Box on the right side of the page and click on the magnifying glass icon. The best match for the hotel or package will open up.

Queries related to Payments, Cancellations and Refunds:

27.How many days in advance do I need to make a payment for the hotel?

Advance payment is required to confirm a hotel booking. However, there is no standard policy followed by all the hotels in Shimla for advance payments. Each hotel has its own policy and it will be conveyed to you at the time of enquiry or booking.

28.How many days in advance do I need to make a payment for the holiday package?

Holiday packages include hotel bookings and hence, their policies largely depend upon the policies for hotels. Refer to Ques. 27 for further details.

29.I need to cancel my hotel stay:
29.1.What is the cancellation process?

Just send an e-mail to reservations@jetwaystravels.com with the following details:

  • Booking number assigned to your booking by Jetways Travels (check your invoice) and
  • Reason for cancellation.

On receiving your request, a Jetways Travels representative will contact you to confirm your request and then the cancellation process is initiated. The entire process depends upon:

  • Time-period between the day of receiving the request for cancellation and the date of travel
  • Cancellation Policy of Hotels booked (conveyed on your booking confirmation voucher/e-mail)
  • Cancellation Policy of Train/Ground Transport providers (conveyed on your booking confirmation voucher/e-mail)

29.2.How do I apply for a refund?

Refund policies for both hotels and holiday packages depend upon the hotels involved as booking, cancellation and refund policies vary from hotel to hotel.

30.I need to change my itinerary:
30.1.What is the process?

Kindly contact Jetways Travels / toursinShimla.com at +91-11-44112200 or send us an e-mail on reservations@jetwaystravels.com and we will guide you on the process. However, please note that for itineraries that have been booked and reconfirmed with hotels, the cancellation or modification fees for hotels concerned will be applicable. In addition, new hotels where applicable, will be subject to availability.

30.2.How many days in advance can I change a hotel/holiday itinerary without losing money?

If we receive the request for changing a hotel/holiday package itinerary before the reconfirmation of the concerned hotels and/or ground transport services, then only a nominal charge equivalent to a night's tariff for the hotel room(s) will be levied.

In case, we receive the cancellation request after the ground transport services and/or hotel bookings have been reconfirmed, then the hotel's cancellation policies and cancellation fees come into force. There are no standard policies commonly followed by the hotels in Shimla and the service providers. Hence, you will need to refer to the confirmation mails and vouchers provided by Jetways Travels / toursinShimla.com for further details on the policies followed by the hotel/ services booked for you.

30.3.How do I apply for a refund if the new hotel(s) and/or holiday package costs me less than the existing one?

Refunds for hotels/holiday packages booked and paid for is dependent upon the refund policies of the hotel(s) involved. Kindly refer to your hotel voucher or reconfirmation mail for the refund policy of the hotel booked for you. In case you need further assistance, kindly contact us. We will do our best to serve you. However, we recommend you confirm bookings only after trip itinerary finalizations to minimize unnecessary hassles of refunds and cancellations.

31.How do I pay for my hotel?

At Jetways Travels / toursinShimla.com, we require full advance payment for booking hotels. This is a requisite as at Jetways Travels / toursinShimla.com, we pay the hotels the full amount in advance to confirm a booking and ensure the best of services.

32.How do I pay for my holiday package?

At Jetways Travels / toursinShimla.com, we require full advance payment for booking holiday packages. This is a requisite as at Jetways Travels / toursinShimla.com, we pay the hotels and ground transport providers the full amount in advance to confirm a booking and ensure the best of services.

33.Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we accept credit cards as a mode of payment. However, a surcharge of 3% will be levied on the total booking amount.

35.Do you accept cheques?

38.Will ToursinShimla.com store my credit card/debit card/bank details?

No, we do not store any credit card/debit card or bank details. The only record of financial transactions is the receipt issued by us, and the bank statements issued by our respective banks.

39.What are the cancellation policies of hotels in Shimla?

There are many hotels in Shimla. However, they do not follow any standard cancellation policies. Each hotel follows its own policy, which is conveyed at the time of booking,

40.Are the cancellation policies of Shimla hotels different from those of toursinShimla.com?

Jetways Travels / toursinShimla.com follow the cancellation policy of the hotels booked. As the hotels in Shimla follow different cancellation policies, the policy for Jetways Travels / toursinShimla.com also changes according to the hotel involved.

41. If yes, then whose cancellation policy will apply for my booking?

The cancellation policy of the hotel(s) involved will apply to each booking. These policies are conveyed to you at the time of booking and listed on your hotel vouchers and reconfirmation mails.

42.Can I pay through multiple credit/debit cards?

Yes. However, you will need to indicate the amount to be charged to each card clearly.

43.Do I need to pay at the hotel directly?

Hotel payments are done by Jetways Travels / toursinShimla.com in advance. The only payments you will need to make are the extras of personal nature, such as food or meals, beverages and anything that is not listed in the inclusions of the hotel room or holiday package.

44.I need to return home urgently. Can my hotel stay/holiday be terminated midway?

Yes. You can terminate your hotel stay or holiday mid-way. However, no refunds will be made for unused services in such cases.

45.Do I need to pay my driver any tip or money for overnight stay?

You are free to pay them extra tips for goodwill. However, it is not mandatory as the ground-transport service providers pay them their allowance.

46.Can I pay using someone else's credit card?

Yes. However, you will be required to present the photocopy of the credit card used and a photo ID card of the card owner - both needs to be duly self-attested by the card owner.

47.Can I pay using an international credit card?

Yes. However, additional charges might be applicable.

48.I do not reside in India but I wish to book a tour through toursinShimla.com. Will the booking/payment process be any different?

No. The booking process would not be different. However, all guests have to present their photo ID card at the hotel front desk. Guests of non-Indian residence and/or non-Indian origin would have to present a photocopy of their Passports.

49.I have booked my hotel/holiday package through someone else's card. Do I need to carry a credit card authorization letter?

You will need to present a photocopy of the credit card used and the ID card of the card owner, both duly attested by the card owner. This has to be presented at Jetways Travels / toursinShimla.com at the time of payment. These will not be required at the hotel unless and until you are using the card to make a payment at the hotel. In such a case, the policies of the hotel will be applicable.

50.Can I save my payment information for use in the future?

No. We do not save any payment information, bank details or credit/debit card details. For every new transaction, you will have to enter the details afresh.

51.What do you mean by 'per person on twin sharing basis'?

'Per person on twin sharing basis' refers to rates per guest when staying in a room shared by two guests

52.What are the check-in and checkout timings for hotels in Shimla?

53.How will I get the contact details of the hotel?

All details of the hotel including address and contact number will be mentioned in the vouchers you receive from Jetways Travels. You will receive separate vouchers for each hotel in cases of multi-city tours.

54.What do CP, AP, MAP and BB stand for?

BB: This plan refers to hotel rates, which include only the room rent
CP: This plan refers to hotel rates, which include the room rent and Breakfast.
MAP: This plan refers to hotel rates, which include the room rent and two meals, i.e., Breakfast and either Lunch or Dinner.
AP: This plan refers to hotel rates, which include the room rent and all meals, i.e., Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

55.Are Twin rooms and Double rooms different?

Yes. Twin Rooms have twin beds i.e., two single beds. Double rooms on the contrary have a single Queen-sized bed or a double bed.

56.How many guests can stay in a single hotel room?

Guest capacity for rooms vary between hotels. Even within a hotel, the capacity for rooms can vary among room types. Hotels often have larger rooms for families with 2 or 3 double beds that ensure that a family stays together. Such rooms are often few in numbers. Normally, standard rooms have a capacity for two adults.

57.How many children can stay in a single hotel room?

Once again, this varies from hotel to hotel and within any hotel, it varies between different room types.

74.What are escorted or guided tours?

Escorted or guided tours are tours, which are conducted for a group of tourists. In these tours, a coach or a similar suitable vehicle transports the tour group to the different attractions pre-decided and listed on the itinerary. A professional tour guide accompanies the group. In walking tours, there is no transport. Instead, all group members assemble at a pre-designated point and begin the tour from that point. The tour involves walking to all the attractions.

75.I want to book a tour of Himachal Pradesh, with Shimla as just one of the destinations. Can you help?
